Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you complete our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Jason Atkinson to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This is a time for you and Dr. Atkinson to get to know one another and build a doctor-patient relationship.
Your journey back to a life full of vitality and health will begin with a thorough examination. We utilize state-of-the-art equipment to assess your health needs. We are unique in that we utilize a computerized structural and functional examination that will quantify your care. These tests are painless and include Surface EMG, Infrared Thermography and Digital Posture Analysis. These technologies take the guess-work out of your care recommendations. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests may be performed as needed.
Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
We find that most patients have 4 questions when they come to our office:
After reviewing your health history, goals, and performing an examination, Dr. Atkinson will give you a detailed report and will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. He will review the best treatment and wellness program for your needs. This report of findings is usually done on your second visit, giving time to see how you respond to treatment on your first visit.
At the conclusion of initial examination, most patients receive their first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, acupuncture, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue massage. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.
As our name implies, we are interested in helping you benefit from a wellness lifestyle for your entire life. Because wellness encompasses many different aspects, Dr. Atkinson may discuss healthy lifestyle habits with you. These may include positive mental attitude, nutrition, quality sleep, posture and exercise. We are extremely interested in your family's health as well, so your first visit would be a great time to schedule a check-up for them as well.
